“Advisor” is an individual appointed to a company’s Advisory Board usually by its Chief Executive Officer or Board of Directors. The Advisor often is expected to provide advice, connections and sometimes recognition to the company based on the Advisor’s experience, technical expertise and/or influence.  The relationship between a company and an Advisor is governed by an Advisory Board Member Agreement.
